A Shot In My Eye

today I
got a shot
in my eye

it’s what I
have to do
keep my sight

I have wet
AMD
in one eye

we all have
our cross to
bear, dear hearts

I hate it
but love to
have my sight

Our host, Willow’s challenge: I would like you to pick a moment in your day and describe literally or abstractly how you are feeling and how it affects you. You can pick any time of your day. Write a tricube poem in as many multiples of three-line stanzas as you wish. MIf you write a freestyle poem, you must include a syllabic form with it.

  1. Sight is worth the temporary discomfort. My fathers’ needed this treatment for over a year now. He thought the treatment was going to once or twice not realizing that it is needed from now on or else… It breaks my heart because he just wants to read the Bible and see his only grandchild. Hoping this terrible treatment is working for you

  2. Lisa, I can’t imagine what it must feel like to get a shot in your eye!! My husband has a nervous breakdown if he has to use eye drops! πŸ˜‚ You’re a brave soul. I don’t know anything about Wet AMD. You captured this part of your day so well. Be well, my friend. πŸ’™πŸŒΈπŸ’™
