Tourists

Family trips involved Dad driving with
us squished in the back, sweating. Upon
arrival, Dad wanted the vacation to begin –
we wanted to primp. Dad always said
‘You’re tourists – who cares? Have fun!’
One day I realized he was right. We’re all just tourists.

    1. I have come to believe we are tourists in this life. Ultimately, followers of Jesus believe our eternal home is heaven, so even this life is just a journey until we get home. It’s not a good analogy, because this life isn’t exactly a vacation (!) but you understand my meaning, I hope.
