Un
fair
I don’t want to breath
unless I can breathe you in
I don’t want to see
unless I see myself in your eyes
Un
fair
I don’t want to hear
unless it’s you saying my name
I don’t want to accept
a life with so much pain
Un
fair
my empty arms are useless
my empty heart is cold
if you are still with me
it is not a truth I can feel
Un
fair
that I cannot find words
to explain everything you were
how deeply, jealously I loved you
to tell how much I miss you

Yes. Its bitter. Not always, but it is now. This is part of a translation of Psalm 27: “Place me high and safe upon a rock. My head lifted above the engulfing waves.” May you find some piece of solace, Lisa, in the coming days.

Thank you, Lisa. Your beautiful words bring me much solace. The engulfing waves is a perfect description, since it comes in waves. But right now is hard.

Lovely poem and the angst shows through. I have no words of wisdom or comfort, only that I “hear” this and you.
