I dwell in a place
that surrounds me in beauty
sometimes I forget
to open my eyes and heart –
drink in the wonder of here

Melissa’s challenge: For this week’s challenge, let’s write syllabic poetry about forgetting. Choose a syllabic form from the list, and incorporate something you forgot into your poem. Don’t forget: if you write a free verse poem, you must include a syllabic form with it!
may we never take such beauty for granted. Love your photos and poem.

This is such a tender reminder, Lisa. 🌿 We spend so much time looking elsewhere that we forget the wonder of where we already are. ‘Open my eyes and heart’ — yes, exactly. A beautiful poem and beautiful photos to match. 💛

Yes, so easy to do, life puts demands on us, and then a reminder, a moment, we return to that wonder, over and over.
