It was late and the man called Jesus and his followers had gone out into the night. The table in the Cenacle was littered with wine goblets and bread. The servant began to clear the table. When she got to the place where Jesus had sat, she hesitated.
She was in the room, had heard what Jesus told his men. “Take, eat; this is my body,” when they broke the bread. Then Jesus passed his glass around, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for the many for the forgiveness of sins.”
She now picked up Jesus’s glass, and the faint perfume from its chalice steals her breath away. She doesn’t understand everything she has heard Jesus say, but she knows that things will never be the same again because of him.

Such a wonderful use of the prompt line! It’s so amazing to think that this might have actually happened, Lisa, that the servant sent to clean up after the guests had departed would so just what you describe and be moved indescribably to perhaps wonder at the immensity of what she had overheard. It makes us wonder too, and worship. 🙌🙂
