A Dangerous World

Robin sat cross-legged on the blanket in their front yard and watched their tow-headed three year old run like he was shot out of a cannon toward the driveway where her weary husband pulled up in his van, shouting, “Daddy! Daddy!” while her husband wrapped the boy in a hug.

Her husband joined her on the blanket while their son happily jumped on him, and, even though he was tired, he laughed and tossed the child up in the air over his head a few times until the boy collapsed giggling beside them, his head on Robin’s big, pregnant stomach.

While they talked, their neighbor came outside and lay on the ground, partially under his car, his young wife, Andrea, right behind in a short skirt, and Andrea crouched next to him, looking at Robin’s husband, swiveling toward him so her legs were apart, revealing what was under her skirt.

Her husband quickly looked away, and Robin felt her cheeks go hot in anger – she knew Andrea had a crush on Robin’s husband and she knew Andrea was unfaithful to her husband – Andrea was having an affair with her husband’s own brother but would dump them both for Robin’s husband.

The sweet moment the family had been sharing was over, and they gathered their things to go inside and have dinner, Robin feeling angry and frustrated at her vulnerability – her happiness and the happiness of her child, soon children, depended on her husband’s love, and it was a dangerous world.

  1. This behavior is a serious boundary violation and can constitute sexual harassment or indecent exposure, especially if it is a recurring issue. Given that you are pregnant, your focus should be on minimizing stress, ensuring your safety, and creating a record of the behavior. Try to document everything, record dates, times, specific actions, and any witnesses. Consider installing a doorbell camera or security camera to record future incidents.

    1. These are such good ideas, Jim. This really did happen to us, and I didn’t even know how to react, except to feel helpless and angry. Thankfully, my husband wasn’t the cheating type and the neighbor’s wife got caught and she moved out. It was quite a drama.

      1. That must have been infuriating for you Lisa and I think if I was in your situation, I might have said, “Close your legs you slut, as your vagina stinks”, but I think you are much to nice of a person to say that.  Writing is a good way to relive past events and thanks for sharing your story.
