He was beautiful in his strength
and ability – everyone safe in his hands.
He was betrayed
by his bones
for the marrow inside had
myeloid cells with DNA
switched up, wrong,
producing myeloblasts that killed
good blood cells, his
strength yielded to the eternal

Pen us a poem of precisely 44 words (not counting the title), including some form of the word bone. Post your poem on your own blog, and link up with us using the Mr. Linky below. Then spend some time making your way around the interwebs, as you read and comment on the amazing work of your fellow poets. The Quadrille is here all week, so be sure to come back and read (and write) some more!
Great writing, Lisa… but so sad 😢

I know you take comfort even now in his strength, Lisa, which never failed you even when his body failed him. As De said, this poem like so many others you have written, honors him, his memory so beautifully.

Why these terrible things happen to the people we love will haunt us always. This is a beautiful poem about the man you love; thank you for sharing something so personal and meaningful with us. You’re a strong woman, my friend. ❤️

Both photo and poem show strength of body and beauty of soul. How sad that he is gone; how lovely that he lived.
