what is wonder,
surprise, delight, bliss –
it is
Joy found –
like a treasure
buried in your heart

Hi, everybody! Welcome to this week’s Tanka Tuesday poetry challenge. Melissa here from Mom With a Blog. I checked out some new (to me) syllabic forms in an attempt to find something we might not have done here before. I found the “Hautt” poetry form at Poetry Magnum Opus.
While I did not find much information about him, the form is said to have been created in honor of Christian educator Dr. William D. Hautt. It was created by Viola Berg. According to the site, the Hautt is:
- content driven; it pursues “wisdom and eternal truth”;
- a hexastich, a poem in six lines;
- syllabic, 4-5-2-2-5-4 syllables per line;
- unrhymed.
This is simply lovely … 💞
