Black velvet air
Unblinking stars cold stare
The lake lay unmoving
The morning a promise
The woods asleep
Leaves silvered with starlight
A canopy
Quiet settled like
A friend sitting close
In a moment
birds will find their voice
But
Now
Silence and peace

Absolutely love your imagery in this poem. You had me with the first line….and then this one,”Leaves silvered with starlight”I can see and feel this predawn with you!
