I once found a four leaf clover
and pressed it into a book
and when I needed some luck
I’d open it up for a look
it helped me on tests about history
and saved me when my mom got mad
then one day a leaf just fell off
which left only three, which was sad
I hunted so hard for another
but another one never was found
I buried the four leaf clover
in a tiny spot down in the ground
perhaps it will grow me a new one
but I understand life must go on
somehow I must find my own luck
in a rabbit’s foot from cousin John.
