Easter Outing

Every year around Easter, the retirement village van would drive residents downtown to shop and look at the store windows. Ethel looked forward to this outing every year. She loved Easter, had many happy memories of Easter Sundays spent trying to beat her cousins to the Easter eggs filled with candy.

The group was meeting at a cafe for lunch before returning ‘home.’ Ethel made her way through the group to stand next to Henry, giving him a smile.

“Can I buy you lunch?” Henry asked Ethel. She nodded shyly.

Soon Ethel would have a new reason to love Easter.
