Perfect white, a carpet of diamonds
as the sun caresses the cold –
reflected, doubly lovely.
Time stops within the hush,
the world painted pure,
there is magic –
like children
our hearts
dream.

Whether you live in a place where there is lots of snow or where there is never snow, whether you love it or hate it, I would like you to write about snow as you see, feel or imagine it, in any form you wish, using clear imagery as crisp as fresh-fallen snow.
I love the shape and form of your poem, Lisa, and the wonderful pause created by the line ‘Time stops within the hush’. There is still magic, even when we no longer dream like children.

There is a hint of nostalgic innocence. I love the pace of the poem, and you used language that felt light. And easy on the mind.
A beautiful poem, Lisa.
