The standard for behavior when I was a child was the “Golden Rule,” which stated
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
However, I recently heard that this is no longer considered a good standard for behavior because not everyone wants to be treated like ‘you’ would want to be treated.
The Bible says in Micah 6:8 “He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly
To love mercy
And to walk humbly with your God?”
That seems like a good principle. I would also add these sub-principles:
Do Justly – Be honest; work hard; do good
Love Mercy – Be kind; don’t judge
Walk Humbly – Don’t think you’re better than anyone, because you’re not; listen to God because He’s a lot smarter than we are
If you’ve stuck with me this far, I thank you. Happy Monday.

Happy Monday! “not everyone wants to be treated like ‘you’ would want to be treated.” Very true.

Such seemingly simple guidelines to follow in order to live in kindness and with respect. I do not know why half of the world thinks this is too much to ask.

Every culture, every religion has the same simple rule. You would think by now we would all (worldwide) just stick to it.
