Crickets

I have worked in the justice system for nearly twenty-six years and I want to say so much, but if I say anything at all I could lose my job. And I need my job and I love my job. I try to help people. So crickets here.

crickets aren’t quiet
if there’s silence and crickets
no ones talking

Reena challenges us: This week, we explore the interplay between prose and poetry. Use one or both of these images as your inspiration — a blindfolded Lady Justice whose scales are tipped by money or a crumbling courthouse.

Write in either Prosimetrum or Versiprose form: both combine alternating passages of prose and verse.

  • If the prose dominates, it’s Prosimetrum.
  • If the poetry dominates, it’s Versiprose.

Find details on the format here.

    1. No, I have misrepresented my situation I think. I have a good job and a wonderful boss. Everyone I work with is working hard to keep those levels of justice balanced. But there are many other people involved in the justice system. But to bad mouth anyone would be wrong.
