soft as a velvety petal
that a child’s fingers will stroke,
the evening gently
pushed the day away,
and began to bloom in
shadows and moonlight,
trees now giants,
stars appearing like moonflowers,
there is magic in the silver
on the lawn, and dreams.

Love the thought of the evening pushing the day away like a child’s fingers brushing a petal.
