The sounds we made were loud and happy
jokes inside and out, teasing and provoking
sometimes fighting, while the room fidgeted
we loved muscle cars and smooth pavement
motorcycles, boats and camping
bonfires and cookouts and movies
we were a unit, a platoon
of our various ages and natures
going to war with life together
we had each other’s backs
us together forever
and sometimes at night we would say
good-night, John Boy

Love this! Girl you are outdoing yourself lately!
