Crackling like a fuse on a firecracker hot – summer
Lawnmowers growling and mowers downing draughts – summer
Sounds of children laughing as they play and run
Until one starts crying because you know they fought – summer
Local pool brimming with escapees from the heat
That cold blue water is gonna hit the spot – summer
Bonfires cast an intimate circle of gold
Fireflies darting, trying not to get caught – summer
Children fall asleep before their heads hit the bed
Parents marveling over how lucky they got – summer

Lisa, this feels like a warm, nostalgic snapshot reel. I especially love how “fireflies darting, trying not to get caught – summer” captures that playful magic so effortlessly.

Thank you for trying this form, I hope you liked it. I like how you captured the essence of summer— like fireflies in a jar, or marshmallows melting on a pointy stick. It brought me back.
