A survivor,
arms held up to the living God,
the sunrise baptizes its limbs.
Leaves like swords, a warrior
and a home for birds and the yucca moth
pollinator of the desert.
A fighter, and in danger
holding on to the scant life
it possesses and we pray he lives on.

Lisa I love this piece – such powerful images of struggle, renewal, and connection to the divine, and your juxtaposition of life, death, and nature adds a lot of depth ❤️
