Sadje asks What were your initial expectations when you started your blog?
I believe I started this blog in 2017. Initially, I wanted to have a record of my life and my husband’s life that our children could read someday when we were gone. I included pictures of the grandchildren and told simple stories about our weekends together, vacations together, and so on.
After my husband became sick with AML, I started blogging about that journey. I talked about my feelings and our fears, his treatments and remissions and set backs. I wasn’t very vigilant about posting over these years, but I tried to keep a record of a sort.
After my husband died, I wanted to write about my feelings and try to process them. I have always loved writing, even as a child. I enjoyed writing stories and poems and used writing as a creative outlet. With so much more time on my hands now, I used my blog as a way to express myself.
Then I discovered other bloggers. I read their posts and marveled at their talent. I discovered challenges and prompts and enjoyed trying to rise to the occasion with a story or a poem of my own.
My blogging has changed tremendously over the years, and I feel that I do have an ambition for my blog now. I would like to become a better writer and a better communicator. I enjoy doing a little research. I have learned so much from other bloggers that I follow and have received so much encouragement from them all. Never have I met such a beautiful group of people! You all are so intelligent, talented, gifted and so very interesting. I don’t what I would have done without blogging and meeting all of you after the loss of my husband, which left a great big hole in my heart and life. I feel stronger for my involvement with the blogging community, and I am very grateful!
We’re so grateful to have you, Lisa. I’m glad that through such sadness, you have found something positive π

We both have similar reasons for blogging. Even through all my years of performing on stage, I still have difficulty speaking to others about how God has been with me throughout my life and difficulties. I think I can express my feelings better through the written word. Thus, I write each day about various things, but mostly to share God’s blessed love for us. We can evangelize in many ways.
