I drink
fiery orange
the setting sun dancing
in the blue sky crackling like a
bonfire
I smell
the sun’s dying day breathing in
the water’s green prisms
scattered across
the lake

  7. These were my favorite lines of your lovely poem, “I smellthe sun’s dying day breathing inthe water’s green prisms” I hadn’t thought of a day dying, but it does, and it’s gone forever.

  12. I love your choice of form for this poem, the first half “I drink / bonfire” and second “I smell / the lake” – it completes the reflection…. I am not always good at comments explaining what I mean, poetry is a feeling for me that I find difficult to explain, – but I really appreciated this …
