WATERMELON SEEDS

When I was a girl, a wonderful treat
was a thick slice of watermelon so sweet
that juice would run down and pool at our feet
refreshing and light, we could eat, eat, eat!

We’d spit the seeds out, and watch them fly far
but now they’re all seedless which is so bizarre
the poor little seeds, they just want to fit
back into the watermelon so they can be spit.

  2. lol… I have to admit, a few summers ago I purposely bought watermelons with seeds for a competition with my great nieces and nephews. Seed spitting was the highlight of the event. Lol.
