First lingering look
Will cement the attraction
No words are spoken
Tentatively you open
Up and reveal who you are

Many years later
You have toiled side by side
Seen the best and worst
That each heart can offer up
And now you are truly known

You have a partner
Someone to live and die for
Someone has your back
You will walk the path together
You promise to always stay

I may not have followed the directions properly, but I hope I did.

Selma, hosting for Tanka Tuesday, writes: For today’s prompt, I want us to write on the topic of relationships. And from the tone and content of mine, you’ll know I’m talking about marriage.

Let’s write a Rensaku on the topic of relationships. You may choose to write a tanka, haiku or senryu series. Make it as long as you like.
