What is your favorite restaurant?

My favorite restaurant is a Mexican restaurant near my home, Los Tres Caminos. It isn’t a quiet place with candlelight. Los Tres is a busy place, with colorfully painted and carved booths lined up against the walls, two rooms plus a bar and outdoor seating. There is Mariachi music playing quietly in the background. A neon sign by the front door boasts “Voted Best Margaritas!” It is usually crowded and noisy, but I don’t mind. The food is delicious, hot and prepared quickly. Just thinking about the restaurant is making me hungry!

My California friends call the food served at our Mexican restaurants ‘Mexican-American food,’ saying it is not truly authentic Mexican fare because it is not prepared with all fresh ingredients from scratch and lacks the spicy flavors. It may not be completely authentic, but it is very good and I find that it is good enough for me. I come back to the restaurant again and again, especially for a chicken chimichanga. Yum!
