Mistakes and regrets
are part of life
and no one escapes them.
Mine haunt me at times,
coming up in my mind like
a sickness you can’t hold down
and I am so sorry,
so sad that I was so weak
or selfish or thoughtless or mean.
I thank God for forgiveness
and hope I will never
make the same mistakes,
and try to forgive myself.
