A silver cup

engraved on the outside with scrolls depicting doves and almond blossoms,

and filled with good intentions, empathy

and caring

was extended to me when I was alone in the darkness

and in pain,

a cup of kindness.

One sip from the silver cup and the darkness fled

and I saw that I was not alone.

In responding to the Thursday Inspiration, I had a choice to write about a few different topics, one of which was “finding hope and connection after feeling lost and alone”.
