Jim Adams challenges us to: Respond to this challenge by either using the prompt word want, or going with the above picture, or by means of the song ‘With a Girl Like You’, or by going with another song by The Troggs, or another garage song from the 1960s, or a song where a guy wants to dance with a girl, or anything else you think fits.

Open Mic Night at the local brewery was every Thursday night, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Sammy tried to make it each week, partly because he loved playing music and he had a small following at the brewery, but there was another reason, too. There was a girl. He had met her after a few weeks of Open Mic, on a night when the tables were all full. She was skinny and small with black hair and she asked to sit with him. He said yes, then grabbed sidelong glances of her china doll face and black combat boots. She had a notebook with her, and after a mandolin player had finished, she went up onstage and opened her book and read a poem. Sammy couldn’t remember what the poem was about, but it had something to do with a nightmare she kept having. When she was done, he bought her a drink and they began to talk.
Sammy had a pretty regular upbringing, nice family, college, and decent job that paid the bills. His passion was music, though, and he had made some contacts and was ready to start a band. He talked about himself for a few minutes, but he really wanted to hear about her. She told him her name was Raven, and she was going to the local community college, taking writing and philosophy classes.
“Is your band going to write their own songs?” she asked, “because I could probably sell you some song lyrics.” She opened her notebook and went over some of her poems with him, but they were all so sad, depressing really, that he couldn’t imagine using them.
“Are you into country music?” he asked and she laughed.
“I do write on the darker side, but my life has been one tragedy after another. I decided to study the heart of man, and to write about what I see, no matter how mundane or emotional. My dad was a hippie in the 60’s and he says I’m ‘heavy’, which he says means intense, serious, important. I kind of like it, really.” She smiled at him and Sammy’s whole body reacted to her. It was unlike anything he had ever felt before.
Sammy realized he had two missions in life to 1. Start a band, and 2. Marry Raven.
I want you
I want you so bad
I want you
I want you so bad
It’s driving me mad
It’s driving me mad
I want you
I want you so bad, babe
I want you
I want you so bad
It’s driving me mad
It’s driving me –
I want you
I want you so bad, babe
I want you
I want you so bad
It’s driving me mad
It’s driving me mad
I want you
I want you so bad
I want you
I want you so bad
It’s driving me mad
It’s driving me –
She’s so
Heavy, heavy, heavy, heavy
She’s so heavy
She’s so heavy, heavy, heavy
I want you
I want you so bad
Want you
I want you so bad
It’s driving me mad
It’s driving me mad
I want you
You know I want you so bad, babe
I want you
You know I want you so bad
It’s driving me mad
It’s driving me mad
Yeah!
She’s so
