Joy is in Your Wings

I admire the colored feathers
that make you beautiful and bright,
the way you seek the winter warmth,
the formations in your flight.
You serenade our aching hearts
and joy is in your wings
such precious beauty I see
in such a little thing.

I recently watched a documentary called “Listers” about two brothers who left their lives behind to live in a van and try to see and photograph as many birds as they could in a year. The film is on YouTube, it is a beautiful film – it took the brothers two years to edit and polish it for release. None of the streaming companies would pay them a fair price for their film, so they decided to put it on YouTube for free and have a Go Fund Me page for anyone that would like to donate to their effort. I highly recommend the movie.
