Welcome! Here are my attempts to write in the style of Basho. Thank you for being here!
heart and arms open
running free across the grass
old woman is bent
not searching, found love –
you’re gone, I cannot follow
fingers of light reach
heron stands alone
hovers over the water
reflection wavers
silence embraces
cold stars so far away flash
an owl’s lullaby

I do love each of these, but I’m especially drawn to the heron, that gripped me above all.
