Your final three words for this week are:
HORN
BONNET
HUNT

I was hunting everywhere for my sun bonnet. I couldn’t go to the beach without it. I would get a terrible sunburn. My family was already in the car, waiting for me. I had been so busy packing everything they would need that I left the things I needed for myself last. I heard my husband honk the horn of the car, and I muttered, “Oh bother!” This was hopeless.
It wasn’t that a trip to the beach was my favorite, by any means. The baby would get sand on her hands and try to eat it. My oldest would scare us half to death and our middle child would probably not even get near the water. But we are making family memories, I told myself.
“Oh, there you are!” I saw the bonnet sitting on my desk. How on earth did it get there? Oh well, off we go. My husband couldn’t resist one more honk as I grabbed my things and headed for the door.

It takes a lot of planning to spend a day at the beach, nice story Lisa.

Making memories indeed. My Dad hated the beach, but we still went and had a lot of fun.
Thanks for joining in Lisa.

Those were the days when lollies were a penny or tuppence and ice creams less than sixpence, and the chap came along on a bicycle with a a freezer box on the front. It was a real get together that day as we’d all piled into my dad’s old ambulance which was his vehicle of the time, and there were about 10 of us so my 2s and 6d went a long way!
