Ohhhh Henry

We have a dog. He’s mostly Australian Cattle Dog, but he’s too big to be full-blooded. Henry has a Jekyll and Hyde personality. He can be loving and sweet to us, sit on our laps and cuddle in bed with us. But his Mr. Hyde is a vicious, snarling attacker of all people he doesn’t know, whether man or woman, young or old. So, he’s a handful. Here is Henry:

We like Henry, mostly. Just kidding, we’re fond of him, even though sometimes he’s a complete jerk. He’s so excited when we get home from work that he’ll jump on us, jump on the counters, stand on the coffee table, play fetch for an hour, etc. He hurts us often, though it’s unintentional. Anyway, we signed him up for obedience training “for life” for an obscene sum at the VonBerne K-9 training center. Our session is Monday at 7:30 a.m. 😳 This is a choker chain and leather leash kind of place. It’s where you are taught how to be an alpha and stop letting your dog rule your life. It’s where you have to be mean to your dog and show him who’s boss.

We were so lucky to have Petey. I wonder if we should’ve got a puppy instead of a 5 mo. old puppy/dog. Petey was awesome, chill, nice, pretty obedient. He may not have come when you call him, but you didn’t have to worry he’d bite the neighbors! So I hope & pray this training works. More about how it’s working out to come…,
